High School Expectations (Ninth through Twelfth)
Most required meeting times for high school students will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students will generally be scheduled for six or seven classes, depending on individual student needs and progress towards graduation. Academic advisement with your home school counselor is required.
Students and parents can expect students to participate in two, 45-minute weekly required meetings for direct instruction for each class in which they are enrolled and taught by a Bulloch County Schools Virtual Program teacher. Most elective classes are self-paced courses, facilitated by Bulloch County Schools teachers.
Additional services or services at different times may be required for special education students in accordance with the student’s Individualized Education Plan and staff availability.
Students enrolled in Work-Based Learning or Dual Enrollment courses who are enrolled in the Virtual Program should discuss their work or college schedule with their counselor during the above-mentioned academic advisement session.
Attendance will be mandatory, unless excused in compliance with JBD: Absences and Excuses or exempted by the teacher.
Additional opportunities beyond the required minimal participation times may be offered by teachers to provide enrichment or remediation.
