They need to know why and how to use technology in ways that are safe, healthy, ethical, legal, and helpful to their minds. Bulloch County Schools is committed to helping all students learn how to wisely use digital resources and technology to become responsible citizens for college and careers.
To make this happen Bulloch County Schools focuses on two key skills enhanced with technology: safe, healthy, ethical, legal communication and collaboration with others. Each school uses G-Suite for Education for student learning and collaboration. school year. If parents/guardians do not wish for their children to have access to the free safe, healthy, ethical, legal communication and collaboration tools and resources provided by Google, they may contact their school to complete a G-Suite for Education Opt Out form.

G-Suite for Education is a series of free tools, resources, and services offered to schools, universities and non-profit organizations. G-Suite for Education includes the following:

How Safe is G-Suite for Education for Your child?
G-Suite for Education is very safe. Why? G-Suite for Education is certified by the Federal General Services Administration as meeting their stringent cyber-security requirements, and Google's spam filtering, intrusion prevention, and backup solutions are all industry standard. In addition, there are no advertisements. We have the ability to modify or add additional custom protections as deemed necessary by the district G-Suite Committee.

Although we do not provide Parent View accounts, we encourage you to explore G-Suite for Education with your child. Have your child share the account information with you and login together from any internet-enabled device (computer, iPad, tablet, smartphone, etc). How will G-Suite for Education improve instruction and learning?
Imagine a school where students never lose their work. How? When teachers and pupils use Google Apps the work they do is automatically saved. Our users have easy access to their documents, spreadsheets, and presentations within Google Docs. Teachers can see when students began their work, how they changed it over time, and document the feedback and advice they share with learners. In addition, students have additional storage for other files they may need to use between home and school.
How much is Bulloch County Schools paying for G-Suite Education?
G-Suite for Education is free. Money saved by the use of G-Suite for Education can be allocated to other necessary services and resources.
What if I don’t have a computer? How is my child going to get to use G-Suite for Education?
The use of Bulloch County Schools' G-Suite for Education is part of the instructional program and students have opportunities to work in their school district G-Suite account during the school day. Because G-Suite for Education is safe and web-based, it can be accessed from the Statesboro Regional Public Library or other places where computers and safe internet-access are available.
Should I get my child their own computer?
The use of G-Suite for Education does not require students to have their own computer or any other personal device. That is an individual family decision.
How will my child access G-Suite for Education?
With teacher guidance, students must first activate their G-Suite for Education account and set their password from a computer at school. Once the student has an active account, they may login as follows:

Go to Google and log in using his or her full G-Suite for Education email address (username@bullochschools.org) and password.
Does my child need to use a specific browser?
Google Chrome is the recommended browser for G-Suite for Education; however it will work with Mozilla and Internet Explorer.
Will my child be required to access G-Suite at home?
The instructional use of G-Suite for Education is optional, with decisions about G-Suite for Education in the classroom often made at the school level by teachers. Since it is accessible from any device with access to the Internet, your child does have the opportunity to log in to his or her G-Suite account from home to access their information or work on their documents, and collaborate on shared documents with other students and/or their teacher.
Why can’t my elementary child e-mail me with this account?
G-Suite for students in grades 2-5 is a “closed” environment. It is not being used or available for pre-kindergarten through first-grade classes. It will not allow students to send or receive email outside of the school district's Google Apps domain. You will not be able to email your student at his or her bullochschools.org address, nor will students be able to email you. This is the initial rollout recommendation from our Google Apps Committee.
Do these apps work on an iPad or other tablet?
